The city provides to the employee, at no cost, single coverage which includes the following:
AvMed Medical Open Access HMO
United Concordia Dental Plan
Life Insurance and Long Term Disability Insurance through Cigna
These are provided at no cost to the employee, and the coverage is effective on the first of the month following 90 days of employment.
There is an option to select AvMed Medical POS Health Plan instead of the HMO; however, there will be a cost associated with this selection depending on the employee status. Dependent coverage is also available for spouse and/or children at a reduced rate depending on employee status.
Holidays, Vacation and Personal Days
11 paid holidays
Zero to one year of employment - accrue nine days per year of vacation
One to four years of employment - accrue twelve days per year of vacation
After four years of employment - accrue fifteen days per year of vacation
Sick days are accrued at the rate of eight hours per month
One Personal Day is given after probationary period has been completed
